Job Description

Our Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies team is hiring a System Development Engineer to support Wickr and help build highly available, resilient systems for U.S. Government workloads. This role is based in Herndon, Virginia, with a posted salary range of USD 129,200 to 174,800 annually, plus sign-on payments, restricted stock units, and a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
- Bachelors degree or CSSLP certification (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 2+ years of professional software development experience outside of internships
- 1+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
- Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems
- Experience programming in at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility or higher
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, or equivalent clearance, for the government agencies supported
- Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and systems to deliver a highly available and resilient platform for our customers and our teams workloads
- Support Wickr service operations as part of our Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies team
- Participate in on-call coverage, typically one week in every six
- Troubleshoot incidents quickly, work collaboratively to resolve root causes, and help prevent repeat pages
