Cloud Virtualization Engineer

This is a contract role based in Chandler, AZ for local candidates only, with a hybrid schedule requiring three onsite days per week. The primary focus is Red Hat OpenShift, with grid computing and Kubernetes as additional key areas.

- 4 to 5 years of experience supporting grid, batch, or other compute-intensive workloads
- Solid technical foundation in Linux, application dependency assessment, and virtualization
- Experience enabling workloads on standardized VM-based platforms
- Background in migration or modernization efforts
- Preferred: 8 to 10+ years supporting grid, HPC, or large-scale compute environments
- Preferred: virtualization or cloud infrastructure certification
- Preferred: experience with migration factories, workload enablement frameworks, or grid modernization
- Preferred: familiarity with internal cloud or hybrid compute models

- Work with grid computing application owners to evaluate, adapt, and virtualize applications for VM-based deployment on our Internal Cloud Platform
- Ensure virtualized grid workloads align with our standards for performance, security, resiliency, and operability
- Define and maintain VM-based deployment patterns and enablement approaches for grid use cases
- Review application architectures and identify runtime dependencies
- Design VM deployment models and support migration activities
- Validate grid workloads in production-ready environments
