In our Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) division, we focus on developing and enhancing Capital Ones cloud infrastructure, ensuring resilience and reliability. Our roles are based in McLean, VA, and Richmond, VA, with salaries ranging from $175,800 to $220,700, depending on the location and qualifications.
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in application development (internship experience does not count)
- At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 4 years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 4 years of experience with distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL)
- 4 years of experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
- 4 years of experience with NoSQL implementations (Mongo, Cassandra)
- 4 years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
- 4 years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
- 2 years of experience with Agile engineering practices
- Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies
- Work alongside developers experienced in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, as well as both Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, alongside cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake
- Share knowledge and stay abreast of tech trends, experimenting with new technologies and participating in both internal and external tech communities
- Mentor fellow members of the engineering team
- Cooperate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance user experiences for millions of Americans aiming for financial empowerment
- Conduct unit tests and engage in peer reviews to ensure code is thoroughly designed, well-structured, and optimized for performance
