Senior Platform Engineer - WebSphere/WebLogic

In this Senior Professional, Platform Engineering role, you will help design, develop, and maintain the digital infrastructure that supports our technology applications and services. You will work with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment, contribute to platform improvement, and help deliver reliable, high-performing solutions. We offer a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $160,000, eligibility for a discretionary incentive award based on company and individual performance, and Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals where applicable. - We require at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, with 5 or more years preferred.
- We are seeking deep expertise in IBM WebSphere and/or Oracle WebLogic administration, including clustering, performance tuning, and secure configuration.
- We need strong knowledge of web hosting platforms such as Apache and IIS, as well as reverse proxy and load balancing technologies like IBM HTTP Server, Oracle HTTP Server, NGINX, or similar.
- We expect experience with automation and scripting tools such as wsadmin, WLST, Python, and Shell, plus integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- We value familiarity with security best practices, SSL/TLS, authentication methods such as LDAP and SSO, and compliance requirements.
- We prefer proficiency with monitoring and performance optimization tools such as AppDynamics or Datadog.
- Exposure to cloud hosting and containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and the confidence to lead complex platform initiatives are important.
- A background in software development, platform engineering, or middleware support is highly relevant.

- We design and build high-quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- We lead the use of internal deployment platforms, continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines, and twelve-factor development practices to automate releases.
- We partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
- We create, maintain, and execute complex unit and integration tests, applying test-driven development where appropriate.
- We investigate and resolve difficult technical issues, including debugging production problems to protect software quality and performance.
- We identify opportunities to improve development and deployment workflows, then implement approved standards to increase efficiency and reliability.
- We produce and update detailed documentation for software applications, deployment processes, and system configurations.
- We provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed applications to minimize downtime and speed up resolution.
- We participate in code reviews to uphold code quality and share knowledge with our platform engineering team.
