About the Role:
Allstate’s FinOps Team is seeking a highly experienced Cloud FinOps Engineer to drive financial governance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid IT environments. This role blends deep engineering expertise with financial insight to influence architecture decisions, optimize resource utilization, and deliver measurable cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will:
Analyze cloud, on-prem, and SaaS usage and spending to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Work with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures and integrate FinOps practices into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) workflows.
Apply FinOps principles across cloud, data centers, SaaS, and enterprise software to provide transparency and support strategic decision-making.
Build dashboards and reports to monitor usage, efficiency, and financial performance.
Advise and enable stakeholders on cost-effective solutions and drive adoption of optimization strategies.
Manage and automate cost management tools for maximum efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
10+ years of engineering experience with cloud (AWS, Azure), on-prem, and hybrid architectures.
Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Terraform, and API integration; experience integrating cost controls into CI/CD and IaC workflows.
Strong FinOps knowledge across cloud, data centers, SaaS, and enterprise software, including discount programs and licensing optimization.
Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and dashboards using Excel, BI tools, and cost management platforms (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth, Finout).
Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence both technical and financial stakeholders.
FinOps and TBM certifications are a plus.
