This Senior Cloud Engineer role is based in Fairfax, Virginia and supports the DoD/DoW Advana War Data Platform, with a focus on secure cloud operations for data integration, JADC2 enablement, and AI/ML-driven analytics. - We require 9 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree in a related field, 7 years with a masters degree, 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus 13 years of relevant experience.
- We require an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification.
- We require an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- We require U.S. citizenship.
- We prefer experience with Advana architecture, Palantir Foundry, or comparable data integration platforms.
- We prefer familiarity with data governance practices and metadata management.
- We prefer Agile or SAFe delivery experience in secure environments.
- We may require the ability to work in office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory settings.
- We may require the physical ability to climb ladders and tolerate confined spaces and significant temperature changes.

- We develop, deploy, and sustain secure cloud environments that support Department of Defense operational, analytical, and mission-support systems.
- We configure AWS environments, including virtual private clouds, subnets, routing rules, identity and access settings, and encryption controls aligned with System Operations Plan requirements.
- We implement monitoring and compliance tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config to track system health, configuration changes, performance limits, and regulatory metrics.
- We support release and deployment efforts using automated pipelines, version control systems, rollback methods, and production validation steps defined in Software Release Plans.
- We apply hardening standards across compute, storage, and networking components using approved government controls, automated remediation, and continuous compliance validation.
- We carry out system administration tasks such as firewall adjustments, capacity tuning, load balancing, and troubleshooting cross-enclave connectivity issues.
- We assist incident response teams by gathering system evidence, detecting unusual activity, and contributing to root cause analysis for investigative processes.
- We maintain operational records including system configurations, architecture baselines, capacity documentation, and performance dashboards.
- We automate deployments using infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation, AWS Systems Manager, and scripted orchestration workflows.
- We collaborate with program leaders, engineers, and mission stakeholders to confirm requirements, incorporate technical improvements, and maintain operational readiness.
- We produce system metrics that demonstrate service availability, performance gains, and security compliance.
- We help deliver resilient cloud operations that support mission execution, data integrity, and enterprise reliability.
