Salary: $97,097 - 135,000 per year
Requirements:- We require a current U.S. Government security clearance to be processed at the Secret level; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- We are seeking someone with 5+ years of experience in platform engineering or software development using Python or Go, backed by a bachelors degree in a related discipline; alternatively, 3 years of relevant experience with a masters degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience.
- We need hands-on experience building and deploying infrastructure on AWS.
- We need experience working with Kubernetes or a comparable vendor distribution.
- We expect a strong foundation in Linux systems, including hosts, networking, security, and applications, along with proficiency in shell scripting such as Bash.
- We value excellent troubleshooting ability and a proven aptitude for solving complex technical problems.
- We require strong verbal and written communication skills.
- We need someone who can work in a hybrid arrangement and be onsite in our San Antonio office an average of 2 days per week.
- We need flexibility to adjust schedules as business needs change.
- Preferred experience includes exposure to DISAs Big Data Platform or other large-scale data environments such as Cloudera, Hortonworks, or MapR.
- Preferred experience includes CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, Travis CI, or Jenkins.
- Preferred familiarity with agile delivery methods and common development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, and GitLab.
- Preferred experience with tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Maven, and virtualization platforms like oVirt, Proxmox, or VMware.
- DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II certification may be required based on customer direction.
- We design and build core software architecture and platform capabilities, moving solutions from prototype into operational use.
- We develop custom software components and integrate open-source technologies to solve complex big data and cloud challenges.
- We apply AWS, cloud engineering, and modern infrastructure practices to create and manage virtual environments.
- We use infrastructure-as-code methods to define, deploy, and maintain cloud-based systems.
- We strengthen, streamline, and improve existing codebases by identifying opportunities for greater performance, resilience, and maintainability.
- We work independently to spot issues, diagnose root causes, and resolve problems quickly while staying aligned with broader architectural direction.
- We collaborate within a hybrid team environment and contribute to shared technical goals.
