This role offers an anticipated salary range of $137,510 to $180,000 and supports a rotating onsite schedule in Hanover, MD, with some time in our Columbia, MD office. We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced team and help us deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure for our customers.
- We require a current Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is mandatory; SCI eligibility is highly preferred.
- We are seeking someone with 9+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or software development with a bachelors degree in a related field, or 7 years of relevant experience with a masters degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent plus 13 years of relevant experience.
- We need strong hands-on expertise with AWS services, including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, for infrastructure deployment and administration.
- We expect solid Linux administration skills, including troubleshooting and system support.
- We require proficiency with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- We need experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management.
- We are looking for the ability to develop in multiple languages, such as Python, Bash, or Go.
- Familiarity with Git, Flux, and related build and release tooling is required.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities are essential for resolving complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- We expect an understanding of Agile development practices and common software development toolchains.
- DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, is required.
- We require the ability to support a rotating onsite schedule in Hanover or Columbia, MD, with occasional remote flexibility.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto is preferred.
- Experience with EKS, Diode, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform is a plus.
- We will rely on you to support the design and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS-based environments.
- You will help build and maintain non-cloud edge infrastructure, including on-premise and portable hardware solutions.
- You will automate release and deployment workflows to improve speed, consistency, and system reliability.
- You will administer and sustain Kubernetes containers and AWS-hosted environments.
- You will partner with development teams to integrate applications into our infrastructure stack.
- You will monitor production services, investigate incidents, and resolve operational issues.
- You will continuously refine processes and tooling to strengthen availability and performance.
- You will stay informed on emerging technologies and industry practices to enhance our infrastructure capabilities.
- You will perform additional tasks as needed to support the team and customer requirements.
- You may also participate in on-call coverage when required.
