Job Description
We are looking for a unique blend of technical expertise and executive-level communication skills in a Senior Cloud Architect based in San Jose, CA, who will work onsite five days a week. This is a contract role for W2 profiles. Our ideal candidate will develop and execute the technical vision while building and delivering production cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS. Youll play a pivotal role in leading complex migration projects and serving as a trusted advisor to our senior leadership team.
- 8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering with a strong foundation in on-premises data centers (VMware, storage arrays, enterprise networking, physical deployments).
- Minimum of 5 years of expert-level hands-on experience in both Azure and AWS public cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to create production cloud environments from the ground up instead of merely managing existing setups.
- Architect, build, and operationalize greenfield cloud environments on Azure and AWS, including IaaS, PaaS, containers, and serverless architectures.
- Lead large-scale migrations from on-premises to cloud environments and manage hybrid/multi-cloud transformations.
- Design and implement enterprise landing zones along with governance, security, networking, and cost-optimization frameworks.
- Convert complex technical concepts into clear and persuasive presentations and recommendations for C-level executives and board members.
- Regularly update senior leadership and stakeholders on architecture roadmaps, migration strategies, risk assessments, and total cost of ownership/return on investment analyses.
- Influence high-level strategic decisions by explaining trade-offs, risks, and the long-term effects of cloud and infrastructure selections.
- Establish trust as the primary technical authority, engaging with both engineers and executive leaders effectively.
- Mentor engineering teams while ensuring accountability for the quality and delivery of solutions.
