Mid-Level DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Python and automation to support our development and operations efforts. The role is based near the Ballston metro in Arlington, VA, with limited remote flexibility, and follows a Monday through Friday day-shift schedule. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $200,000 per year and benefits that include 401(k), dental, health, vision, health savings account, and paid time off. The work is performed on-site in Arlington, VA, and requires Top Secret clearance.

- We require an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
- We prefer a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- We need 5+ years of experience across the software development lifecycle.
- We require strong Python programming proficiency.
- We need hands-on experience with GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipeline development.
- We expect comfort working in the Linux command line and using standard POSIX tools such as grep, awk, and sed.
- We require familiarity with Docker for building and managing test environments.
- We need a solid understanding of the software development life cycle and testing practices.
- We value strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- We expect excellent analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.
- We prefer experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Robot or pytest.
- We prefer knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
- We value familiarity with Agile methods and practices.

- We develop Python scripts and applications.
- We design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- We write and support Bash scripts for test automation and environment provisioning.
- We containerize applications with Docker and manage testing environments in Docker.
- We collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design test cases.
- We identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools.
- We perform regression testing and performance testing to verify software reliability.
- We participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
- We continuously refine testing processes and methodologies.
- We work closely with development and operations teams to improve automation, system reliability, and deployment efficiency.
