We are expanding our Mission Networks Cloud Engineering team and are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to utilize Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud in enhancing customer operations and providing information management services. In this role, you will collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to help define requirements, design software architectures, APIs, and serverless frameworks to ensure mission-critical readiness. - Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 6-9 years of software experience
- Graduate Degree with at least 4-7 years of software experience
- Alternatively, a minimum of 10-12 years of software experience without a degree
- 5 years as a Cloud Software Developer
- 5 years utilizing Object-Oriented Programming (Java, C++, Python)
- 3 years of Java software development, including Web Services, JMS, and application server knowledge, along with JavaScript development, particularly NodeJS or ReactJS
- 3 years of experience creating applications that utilize relational and noSQL databases
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and concepts, including Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or equivalent for other Cloud providers
- Knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, XML, Web services (REST, SOAP) or similar technologies
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash
- Ability to write well-structured, testable, efficient code and mentor team members accordingly
- Experience ensuring design compliance with specifications
- Lead the design, development, and integration of Cloud software applications in an Agile environment
- Create Cloud-based applications and set up deployment environments for seamless integration of Cloud and Non-Cloud components
- Develop applications that align with both program requirements and the business vision/roadmap for Cloud technologies
- Collaborate with the development team and clients to review designs and estimates, while identifying and documenting risks, assumptions, and constraints
- Implement DevOps concepts and best practices to enhance the automated build, testing, and deployment processes for applications
- Provide operational support for applications and tools to achieve high availability and meet service level agreements (SLAs)
- Gain hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices in Kubernetes environments like EKS and OpenShift
- Work within cloud setups with a focus on containerized workloads, databases, and object storage
- Develop scalable, high-availability enterprise systems, preferably for Cloud applications
- Obtain and maintain FAA public trust clearance as necessary
