Job Description

We are Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, a team focused on purposeful innovation, integrity, and solving some of the worlds most complex challenges. This is an experienced, full-time Infrastructure Engineer - Operating Environment role within our RMS business unit, based onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility in New Jersey with travel between multiple campus sites and possible domestic or international travel as needed. The schedule is a 4x10 arrangement with three days off per week. - We require a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Information Sciences, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, along with relevant coursework in Operating Systems, Software Development, Information Systems, Computer Architecture, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- We require at least 2 years of hands-on professional experience installing and configuring Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat.
- We require experience with configuration management and repository tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and/or Artifactory.
- We require experience with coding, scripting, automation, or orchestration tools such as Python, Ansible, and Bash.
- We require a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or an equivalent, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level.
- We require U.S. citizenship for consideration due to the security clearance requirement.
- We prefer a masters degree or professional certification such as Security+, Linux+, CISSP, or a similar credential.
- We prefer experience in a systems or software engineering environment using agile tools such as JIRA, automation, and best practices.
- We prefer strong analytical and collaborative problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to troubleshoot complex software systems.
- We prefer familiarity with DevSecOps tools and platforms such as GitLab.
- We prefer knowledge of CI/CD and automated test framework technologies such as Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and/or Robot.
- We prefer excellent technical writing and communication skills, including the ability to explain advanced technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

- We manage and monitor the operating environment for Aegis programs, including troubleshooting and integration to support secure, efficient, and reliable operations.
- We contribute to the development, integration, and testing of operating environment changes on a quarterly build-development cycle.
- We work within established configuration and change management processes to ensure awareness, approval, and successful implementation of infrastructure changes.
- We participate in deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- We monitor system performance and help ensure availability and reliability.
- We apply automation tools and technologies to streamline system deployment.
- We support customer and corporate events and exercises that help validate future capabilities for the warfighter.
- We develop test plans and document results.
