Our Midstream IT organization supports various business units related to the Gathering, Transporting, Storing, Processing, and Distribution of Oil & Gas products. We are eager to welcome a dynamic and experienced Senior Platforms Engineer to our OT Windows team, who will merge deep technical expertise with strategic vision to provide secure, scalable, and automated platform solutions across essential OT environments. The successful candidate will manage the design, implementation, and lifecycle of critical OT platforms in both Windows and Linux environments while joining forces with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure the delivery of secure and reliable infrastructure solutions. This role is categorized within a family of jobs that vary in terms of responsibility and competency, and the final title and pay grade will correspond to the selected candidate's experience and qualifications. ### - A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience. - A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience as a platforms engineer. - Extensive background in enterprise systems engineering, with a strong record in designing and overseeing large-scale Windows and Linux environments. - Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu). - A deep understanding of Active Directory architecture and Linux identity management (LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD). - Familiarity with IAM, IGA, and PAM technologies (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk) is desirable. - Strong skills in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, and Python. - Expertise in SCCM, Intune, and Linux-native configuration management tools. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid integration strategies. - A successful track record in leading enterprise migrations and modernization efforts is preferred. - Experience with zero-trust architectures and advanced security frameworks is a plus. - Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) within OT contexts is preferred. - Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and disaster recovery planning is desirable. ### - Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analyses, and propose solutions to enhance platform and system performance as well as resource utilization. Establish performance benchmarks, conduct capacity planning, and collaborate with junior engineers and other cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure performance. - Contribute to the development and enhancement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize platform or system downtime, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Partner with vendor technical support to resolve issues. Lead and manage platform and system technical support activities, including handling complex, escalated issues. Execute advanced system tuning and optimization in line with IT Service Management practices. - Engage in planning future platform and system backups. Design disaster recovery strategies and conduct tests. - Analyze performance and utilization data to spot trends; provide recommendations for improvements; prepare thorough reports on infrastructure performance; and implement corrective actions to drive continued system enhancements. - Design and set up complex platforms and systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. Ensure compliance with original designs and configurations while correcting deviations. - Create and maintain a detailed knowledge base for platforms and systems, including troubleshooting guides and best practices. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by conducting training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and promoting cross-team collaboration. - Design, implement, and sustain enterprise-grade systems across Windows Server and Linux platforms, ensuring high availability and security in operational technology (OT) environments. - Lead the design and deployment of Active Directory and Linux directory services, including advanced configurations for forests, trusts, and identity integration. - Develop and enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategies, including solutions for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM). - Spearhead automation of system provisioning, configuration, and patching using advanced scripting and orchestration tools. - Oversee software deployment and configuration management using SCCM, Intune, and Linux-native tools. - Integrate and secure cloud platforms (like Azure, AWS) for hybrid OT environments, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. - Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement zero-trust principles and enforce least-privilege access across all systems. - Perform root cause analyses for complex system issues and lead remediation strategies to avert recurrence. - Produce and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation and operational procedures. - Serve as a technical advisor in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment, influencing system roadmaps and enterprise architecture decisions. - Monitor and optimize system performance, applying proactive measures for resiliency and disaster recovery. - Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization. ###
