Cloud Security Engineer with Azure Expertise

We are the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) located in Austin, TX, and we are looking for a seasoned Cloud Security Engineer to join our Tools Team. This role primarily requires onsite presence four to five days a week in Austin. We focus on enhancing and maintaining our Cloud Security Monitoring platform to ensure a secure and compliant cloud environment across various providers. Our ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in cloud security and automation, with a solid understanding of risk management, incident response, and DevSecOps practices.

- Over 8 years of experience in designing and managing cloud environments on GCP, AWS, and Azure.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud security principles, including:
- Risk assessments
- Vulnerability management
- Incident response
- Container security
- DevSecOps methodologies
- Practical experience with cloud security monitoring tools, such as:
- WIZ
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Tenable or equivalent tools
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.

- Maintain and provide support for our Cloud Security Monitoring tool.
- Monitor cloud infrastructures for security risks, compliance issues, and vulnerabilities.
- Respond to cloud security incidents and assist in investigations.
- Design, develop, and deploy automated security controls across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Ensure secure cloud architecture implementation across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
- Incorporate security measures into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Conduct cloud risk assessments and manage vulnerabilities.
- Uphold compliance with our internal security policies and applicable regulatory standards.
- Assist in audits, remediation actions, and ongoing security monitoring activities.
