Our culture is shaped by our decency quotient, and we are committed to inclusion, collaboration, and strong teamwork. This Site Reliability Engineer II role sits within our Payment Network Business Operations team, where we focus on reliability, scalability, production readiness, and operational excellence for our global platform. We offer competitive compensation and, for eligible full-time employees, benefits that generally include medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; flexible spending and health savings accounts; paid leave; sick and safe time; vacation; and personal days. We are an equal opportunity employer and maintain a strong commitment to security, compliance, and responsible handling of Mastercard assets and information.

- We look for experience applying observability practices with scripting and tooling to capture, analyze, and visualize metrics, logs, and traces for incident detection and service improvement.
- We need strong programming and scripting ability to automate tasks, develop operational tools, and support monitoring, deployment, and incident response using languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
- We value hands-on knowledge of Linux and Unix administration, along with networking concepts, protocols, security, and system reliability.
- We expect experience designing, deploying, and running applications and infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP with an emphasis on scalability, security, availability, and efficiency.
- We look for the ability to build and operate highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-ready systems that can scale with demand.
- We require familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration to improve delivery speed and operational reliability.
- We need strong troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues across systems, applications, and networks.
- We value capability in capacity planning and performance tuning to monitor utilization, anticipate future needs, and optimize infrastructure.
- We expect understanding of IT service management principles across incident, problem, and change management.
- We look for a proactive approach to monitoring application reliability signals and driving preventative improvements.
- We prefer strong practical knowledge of ITSM practices, observability, and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- We want experience operating and supporting applications on PCF and AWS platforms.
- We value proven ability to implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and XLR for automated build and release management.

- We work independently on site reliability engineering tasks and smaller initiatives, applying practical expertise and established best practices to meet our quality standards.
- We support the implementation and upkeep of high-availability systems to maintain stable operations.
- We help assess operational requirements and develop technical solutions with guidance.
- We contribute to automation and scripting efforts that reduce manual operational work.
- We troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderately complex system issues, escalating more difficult matters when needed.
- We document operating procedures and share knowledge with our team.
- We participate in quality reviews and checks to reinforce reliability and platform stability.
- We make minor adjustments and improvements to address identified issues and strengthen system performance.
- We act as a production readiness steward for our products, engaging early in the development lifecycle to support operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
- We support daily operations by leading triage, analyzing root cause, and completing blameless post-mortems.
- We help manage production and change activities to improve customer experience and the value of the applications we support.
- We contribute to compliance and risk mitigation across our environments.
- We provide continuous feedback across the lifecycle to align product priorities with operational needs.
