Salary: $60,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- We require strong application development expertise across more than one technology, along with familiarity with multiple design approaches.
- We expect solid proficiency with development toolsets used to design, build, test, release, support, and enhance software.
- We need a strong command of Agile methodologies and experience working within at least one common Agile framework.
- We require practical knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test-Driven Development, cloud-native development, application resilience, and security practices.
- We are looking for proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages.
- We need working knowledge across key software engineering disciplines, including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing improvement.
- We require at least 5 years of experience with server-based operating systems such as Windows 2016/2019; Red Hat Linux or Unix experience is a plus.
- We require at least 5 years of experience with database platforms such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- We value hands-on experience with high-availability environments, including clustering and failover, as well as networking concepts such as latency, load balancing, and firewalls.
- We seek knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
- We require expertise in at least one technology stack, including design, coding, testing, and delivery.
- We value experience with reporting, business intelligence, and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, and Cognos.
- We expect experience with functional testing, user acceptance testing, and performance testing.
- We need someone who can quickly build subject matter expertise and gain a strong understanding of business processes and how technology solutions affect them.
- We prefer experience working with third-party applications and system integrations.
- We value familiarity with observability practices, including white-box and black-box monitoring, service-level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk.
- We look for a mindset that can reduce toil through automation or systems engineering and strengthen monitoring and alerting through observability patterns.
- We expect you to work with development toolsets in an Agile environment to support software delivery.
- We need you to collaborate using tools such as Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, and Jira.
- We expect you to contribute across application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- We need you to design, code, test, and deliver solutions within at least one technology stack.
- We expect you to support software testing efforts, including functional, user acceptance, and performance testing.
- We need you to apply your technical knowledge to maintain and improve software and related systems.
- We expect you to develop a strong understanding of business processes and translate that understanding into effective technology support.
- We need you to work with third-party applications and integrations as part of the overall solution landscape.
- We expect you to use observability tools and practices to monitor services, collect telemetry, and improve alerting.
- We need you to identify and eliminate repetitive operational toil through automation and systems engineering improvements.

We are hiring an SRE Engineer for an onsite contract-to-hire opportunity in Jersey City, NJ. This role offers a pay range of $60 to $65 per hour, with final compensation determined by factors such as scope, complexity, location, market conditions, and the candidates skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
