Job Description
At SimVentions, recognized as one of Virginias Best Places to Work, we are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer III to enhance our cybersecurity operations through proactive system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and compliance measures aligned with DoD regulations. The ideal candidate should have robust experience in both Linux and Windows environments. This position is contingent upon receiving a contract, expected in December 2025. - Comprehensive knowledge of computer security, military specifications, and DoD cybersecurity standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- One of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications:
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (Associate)
- CISSP
- GCED
- GCIH
- CCSP
- Create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for various systems
- Develop and uphold security documentation such as:
- Authorization Boundary Diagram
- System Hardware/Software/Information Flow
- System Security Plan
- Privacy Impact Assessment
- e-Authentication
- Implementation Plan
- System Level Continuous Monitoring Plan
- Ports, Protocols, and Services Registration
- Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
- Conduct annual FISMA assessments
- Execute Continuous Monitoring of Authorized Systems
- Produce and refresh test plans; test system components using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool, implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and carry out Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) reviews
- Perform automated ACAS scanning, STIG, and SCAP checks on standalone and networked systems
- Assess cybersecurity test scan results and help document open findings in the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
- Analyze DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide test outcomes and contribute to documenting open findings in the Plan of Action and Milestones
