Job Title: Principal Program Manager – Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps)
Location & Work Mode: Remote, Toronto, Canada
Experience Required: 10+ Years
Pay Rate: $72 to $75 CAD PH
Role Summary
We are hiring for a Principal Program Manager – Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps) role. In this position, you will lead cloud cost optimization initiatives across AWS, Azure, and GCP, working closely with engineering, infrastructure, and finance teams. The focus of this role is to drive measurable savings and strengthen cloud cost governance at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end FinOps programs including intake, prioritization, execution, tracking, and executive-level updates
Identify and drive cloud cost optimization initiatives such as rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, savings plans and reservations, storage lifecycle optimization, and egress reduction
Establish and manage a consistent operating rhythm including weekly cost reviews, savings backlog management, and anomaly investigation
Improve cost visibility and accountability through tagging standards, dashboards, and showback or chargeback readiness
Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and finance stakeholders to promote cost-aware decision-making
Create repeatable playbooks and guardrails to ensure cloud cost improvements are sustained beyond the engagement
Must-Have Skills
10+ years of program or project management experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure environments
Strong experience driving cloud cost optimization initiatives in AWS, Azure, or GCP
Solid understanding of cloud billing models, pricing structures, and cost drivers
Proven track record of delivering measurable cloud cost savings
Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
Comfortable working with senior engineering and technical leadership
Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills
FinOps certification
Experience working in containerized or Kubernetes-based environments
Exposure to BI and dashboarding tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker
Experience supporting cost governance, showback, or chargeback models
