Why your job description matters

A well-written job description is the first filter in your hiring funnel. Vague descriptions attract the wrong candidates; overly long ones scare people off. The best JDs are specific about the role's impact, clear about requirements, and honest about the stack. This tool generates a structured starting point that you can customize for your team.

Tips for better job descriptions

After generating the template, customize the intro with your company's mission and what makes the team unique. Replace generic benefits with your actual perks. Add salary range information — listings with pay transparency get significantly more applicants. Finally, have someone on the team review the requirements to make sure they're realistic and not just a wish list.
