Platform Engineer - Augusta

This role offers an anticipated salary range of $119,574 to $165,000 and is based in our Augusta, Georgia office with hybrid expectations.

- We require a current U.S. Government security clearance to not be in place at the start, but the role will be processed for a Secret-level clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- We can also consider candidates who already hold a Secret or TS clearance.
- We are looking for 9+ years of experience in platform engineering or software development using Python or Go with a bachelors degree in a related field, or 7 years of relevant experience with a masters degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
- You must have experience building and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
- We need hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, and storage technologies such as Ceph, Rook, or Longhorn.
- Strong programming ability in Python or Go is required.
- You should have a solid command of Linux systems, hosts, networking, security, and applications, along with proficiency in shell scripting such as Bash.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues are essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- You must be able to work in a hybrid arrangement and spend an average of 1-2 days per week at our Augusta, GA office.
- Flexibility to adjust to schedule changes as needed is important.
- Familiarity with DISAs Big Data Platform or similar big data environments is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development toolsets is preferred.
- Knowledge of agile development practices and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, and GitLab is preferred.
- Experience with Puppet, Maven, and virtualization platforms such as oVirt, Proxmox, or VMware is a plus.
- DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required as directed by the customer.

- We integrate open-source code into our solutions to support advanced platform capabilities.
- We work independently to identify issues, troubleshoot them quickly, and deliver effective fixes.
- We collaborate with architects to execute broader strategic technical objectives.
- We enhance, optimize, and strengthen existing codebases and platform components.
- We use infrastructure as code and modern cloud tooling to build, define, and manage virtual infrastructure.
- We design and implement core software architecture and capabilities from prototype through production-ready applications.
- We perform other duties as assigned.
