Platform Engineer - San Antonio

The anticipated salary range for this role is $100,173 to $135,000, with final compensation based on factors such as experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and role requirements. This position is based in our San Antonio office and averages two in-office days per week.

- We require 5+ years of experience with a bachelors degree in a related field, or 3 years of relevant experience with a masters degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent plus 9 years of related experience.
- We require U.S. citizenship and the ability to be processed for a U.S. Government security clearance; current Secret or TS-level clearance is also acceptable.
- We require hands-on experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
- We require experience with Kubernetes or a comparable platform, including cluster administration and issue resolution.
- We require experience with container build and deployment tooling such as Docker or Podman, as well as Kubernetes automation tools like Helm, Kustomize, or Flux CD.
- We require a strong working knowledge of Linux systems, including hosts, networking, security, and applications, plus proficiency in shell scripting with Bash or Shell.
- We require strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems quickly.
- We require excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- We require the ability to work in a hybrid schedule, averaging 2 days per week in our San Antonio office, with flexibility for changing schedules.
- Preferred: Current Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
- Preferred: 5+ years of Platform Engineering or Software Development experience using Python or Go on Linux or Mac OS.
- Preferred: Experience building automation in CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Travis CI, or Jenkins.
- Preferred: Familiarity with agile delivery practices and common collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, and GitLab.
- Preferred: Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Maven, and virtualization platforms such as oVirt, Proxmox, or VMware.
- Preferred: Exposure to DISAs Big Data Platform or similar big data ecosystems such as Cloudera CDH Hadoop, MapR Hadoop, Databricks, or Apache Spark.

- We develop and deploy custom software components that help solve complex challenges using advanced big data and cloud technologies.
- We integrate open-source software to strengthen and extend our solutions.
- We work independently to identify issues, investigate root causes, and resolve problems efficiently while aligning with architectural direction.
- We contribute to the design and implementation of core architecture and application capabilities from prototype through production-ready deployment.
- We enhance, optimize, and harden existing codebases and platform components where opportunities arise.
- We define, build, and manage cloud-based virtual infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices and modern tooling.
- We apply our Linux, Kubernetes, container, and AWS expertise to support stable, scalable platform operations.
- We collaborate with our team in a hybrid environment and adapt to shifting priorities and schedules as needed.
- We perform additional duties as assigned.
