This senior cloud engineering role supports a large Air Force IT enterprise and Cyber Weapons System/Program in San Antonio, Texas. - We require a bachelors degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or a masters degree plus 6+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- We require an active DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or an equivalent credential.
- We require an advanced cloud certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.
- We require an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- We value additional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or GCSA.
- We value experience with security frameworks such as RMF and NIST 800-53.
- We value scripting or programming skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- We value familiarity with monitoring and log management tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or the ELK stack.
- We value experience with SIEM and/or SOAR platforms and capabilities.
- We lead the design, deployment, and ongoing support of hybrid cloud environments across on-premises and commercial or government platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
- We administer and fine-tune virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-native virtualization solutions.
- We automate deployments, configuration changes, and resource provisioning with Infrastructure-as-Code tools including Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- We partner with cloud and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
- We implement and support containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes in hybrid and cloud environments.
- We monitor cloud and virtualization platforms to sustain availability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- We troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and system problems, perform root cause analysis, and apply corrective fixes.
- We apply security best practices including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation while supporting compliance with RMF, NIST, and ISO 27001.
- We support CI/CD pipelines and broader automation across the software development lifecycle.
- We configure and maintain monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to aid operational visibility and incident response.
- We document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guidance.
- We mentor junior teammates and share technical knowledge across cross-functional groups.
- We collaborate with engineering, operations, and program stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with mission and business needs.
