Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

We are looking for a driven, customer-focused Sr Cloud AWS Engineer to join our dynamic team at MANTECH in Annapolis Junction, MD. We support the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, which manages the backbone platform for all enterprise users. - Bachelors degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related professional engineering field. An additional 5 years of experience as a System Engineer may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Over 20 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
- IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent) is required. If not currently held, it must be obtained within 60 days of the start date.
- Strong proficiency in administering Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Windows Server 2022 administration, including Active Directory and networking skills.
- Demonstrated experience as a System Administrator or Cloud Engineer with solid cloud environment knowledge.

- Lead cross-functional teams utilizing Agile methodologies to enhance the development and integration of complex information systems.
- Manage, troubleshoot, and provide support for Windows Server 2022 environments, Windows 10/11 client systems, and various Linux distributions (e.g., Rocky, CentOS, RHEL) both in cloud and on-premises settings.
- Design, deploy, and uphold resilient cloud environments primarily within AWS, while assisting existing on-premises server infrastructure.
- Create, implement, and maintain automation scripts and configurations using SaltStack for efficient infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure integration and operational stability of CI/CD pipelines for smooth and reliable software deployments.
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot AWS cloud resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, AMIs, Route 53, workspaces, and other core services.
- Oversee system performance, availability, and security by responding to incidents and conducting root cause analysis.
- Provide Tier 3 systems and security engineering support for Splunk-based Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
