Sr. Cloud Engineer

This Lead Cloud Engineer role sits on our Enterprise Cloud Platform Technology Services team, where we drive trust, agility, and adoption across the company. We offer a competitive Total Rewards package, including base pay, potential annual bonus or long-term incentives, and other benefits, with a base pay range of $99,100 to $132,100. - We typically look for a degree or equivalent experience, along with about 7+ years of relevant background.
- We generally expect 5+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years leading the design, development, and delivery of cloud infrastructure solutions for enterprise-scale application development and integration initiatives.
- We require 5+ years of experience in an IT infrastructure team within a cloud or PaaS environment, supporting mission-critical services.
- We require 2+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting multi-region IaaS/PaaS solutions on AWS.
- We look for hands-on experience with cloud automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code using Ansible, Terraform, and Python.
- Experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker is preferred.
- We expect strong knowledge of security processes, standards, and concerns in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications, including data privacy and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with network, application, and information security principles is important.
- We value understanding of software engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and environment and configuration automation.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture and microservices supported by CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Agile experience and prior work in a scrum team are preferred.
- We require a 4-year degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- We design, build, and maintain public cloud infrastructure and solutions that support availability, orchestration, configuration, upkeep, and monitoring of cloud environments.
- We partner with cloud and application architects to develop cloud infrastructure for customer-facing applications and services.
- We create and sustain automation frameworks and tools that enable fast, cost-effective provisioning, high uptime, and predictable operations while reducing outages and service interruptions.
- We communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with peers in Cloud Engineering and across McKesson Technology to plan and execute resource plans effectively.
- We lead the development of cloud automation capabilities that improve the developer experience for application teams.
- We develop, operate, and guide multiple complex cloud automation features and components, including cloud adoption plans, cloud-native application blueprints, and cloud orchestration services.
