This GIS DevOps Engineer role supports our spatial intelligence platform by building scalable backend services for ingesting, storing, and querying geospatial data at scale. The position requires active TS/SCI with CI polygraph clearance, U.S. citizenship, and the willingness to work primarily in a SCIF environment. The role may be based in Herndon, Virginia, Westminster, Colorado, or St. Louis, Missouri. We offer a competitive base salary range of $145,000 to $215,000, along with a strong benefits package that includes a 401(k) match, mental health resources, student loan repayment assistance, adoption reimbursement, and pet insurance. - We require U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph, or the ability and willingness to obtain the CI poly.
- We seek someone with at least 14 years of overall professional experience in a technical support capacity.
- We need demonstrated expertise in DevSecOps practices.
- We require hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production settings.
- We need proven experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
- We expect proficiency with container platforms such as Docker or CRI-O.
- We require experience using CI/CD solutions such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- We need experience deploying and supporting open-source and custom applications.
- We expect the ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed operations and development team.
- We require strong written and verbal communication skills for customer and internal collaboration.
- We need willingness to work in a SCIF environment approximately 90% of the time, with occasional on-call or after-hours onsite support.
- We require the ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA, Westminster, CO, or St. Louis, MO.
- We require a degree in a technical field or equivalent demonstrated professional experience.
- We value additional scripting or programming skills such as Python, Bash, or Go.
- We prefer familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- We value knowledge of networking, security, and Linux systems administration.
- We prefer Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS.
- We value experience with policy and security tools such as OPA or Kyverno.
- We prefer background in hybrid or multi-cloud platform design.
- We value experience with SRE practices.
- We prefer experience working with geospatial technologies and tools.
- We value a CompTIA Security+ certification or an equivalent credential for privileged user access.
- We consider experience supporting military or intelligence missions, or familiarity with IC PED systems, an asset.
- We design, deploy, and administer Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters across cloud and on-premises environments.
- We build and sustain CI/CD pipelines that enable containerized application delivery.
- We implement infrastructure as code to standardize and automate platform operations.
- We monitor system performance, uptime, and security, then respond to incidents and tune the environment.
- We create and maintain platform automation, internal tooling, and self-service capabilities.
- We partner with development, security, and operations teams to strengthen usability and reliability.
- We ensure our platforms comply with organizational security and governance requirements.
- We communicate technical ideas clearly with multidisciplinary SAFe Agile teams and other stakeholders.
