This Platform Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on scalable, secure, highly available platform services that enable development teams through automation and best practices. The position requires work in a SCIF environment and may include occasional on-call or after-hours support, with opportunities based in Herndon, VA; Westminster, CO; or St. Louis, MO. - We require U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph, or a willingness to obtain the CI polygraph.
- We are looking for someone with at least 14 years of overall professional experience in a technical support capacity.
- We need proven expertise in DevSecOps practices.
- We require hands-on production experience with Kubernetes.
- We need direct experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
- We expect proficiency with container platforms such as Docker or CRI-O.
- We require experience using CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- We need experience deploying and maintaining open-source and custom applications.
- We require the ability to work effectively with distributed operations and development teams.
- We expect strong written and verbal communication skills with both customers and internal teams.
- We require the ability to spend about 90% of the time, or as needed, in a SCIF environment with occasional on-call or after-hours onsite support.
- We require the role to be based in Herndon, VA; Westminster, CO; or St. Louis, MO.
- We require a degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical discipline.
- We prefer strong scripting or coding ability in Python, Bash, or Go.
- We value familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- We prefer knowledge of networking, security, and Linux administration.
- We value Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS.
- We prefer experience with policy and security tools like OPA or Kyverno.
- We value experience with hybrid or multi-cloud platform design.
- We prefer a background in SRE practices.
- We value experience with geospatial technologies and tools.
- We prefer CompTIA Security+ or a similar certification for privileged access.
- We consider experience supporting military or intelligence environments, including knowledge of IC PED systems, a plus.
- We design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters in cloud and/or on-premises environments.
- We build and support CI/CD pipelines for containerized application delivery.
- We implement infrastructure as code to standardize and automate platform provisioning.
- We monitor platform health, availability, and security, and respond to incidents while driving performance improvements.
- We develop platform automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities for development teams.
- We partner with development, security, and operations teams to strengthen platform reliability and usability.
- We ensure our platforms follow organizational security and governance requirements.
- We communicate technical ideas clearly within multidisciplinary SAFe Agile teams.
