DevOps Engineer @ Pinnacle Technical Resources

Salary: $80,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of overall experience in infrastructure or platform engineering.
• We need 3 to 5 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, including configuration, operations, and deployment.
• We need 3 to 5 years of AWS experience supporting cloud environments.
• We need 3 to 5 years of database administration experience, ideally with PostgreSQL and managed services such as Aurora or RDS.
• We need 3 years of Python development experience.
• We need strong operational experience with cloud-native service infrastructure, including DNS, load balancing, ingress, telemetry, and logging.
• We need familiarity with Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps practices.
• We need solid scripting ability in Python and Bash.
• We prefer candidates who can work in Pacific time, though this is not required.
• We expect strong communication, organization, focus, and the ability to proactively drive work to completion.

Responsibilities:

• We will have you manage Kubernetes clusters through ongoing improvements, routine upkeep, and operational support.
• We will have you carry out cloud infrastructure operational tasks across our production environment.
• We will have you handle database administration work, including migrations, telemetry instrumentation, performance tracking, cost analysis, and consolidation efforts.
• We will have you contribute to CI/CD initiatives by implementing GitOps capabilities and improving our software lifecycle tooling and processes.
• We will expect you to support high-availability services with a focus on uptime, zero-downtime operations, scalability, and low-latency performance.
• We will have you work on internal platform services that support our machine learning ecosystem and data platform tools.
• We will expect you to communicate progress regularly, request guidance when needed, and stay organized while delivering against a time-bound project.

We support a broad set of internal machine learning and data platform services, including Bolt, Hub, Lightning, and other production tools used by our teams. Our platform relies on shared services for authentication, authorization, and collaboration, and we operate as a lean group responsible for building and running multiple internal offerings. This is a 12-month remote contractor role based in Seattle, with a strong preference for someone who can align with Pacific time hours. The work is highly operational and focuses on reliability, scale, and performance for internal customers. We offer competitive hourly pay in the range of $80 to $85, and our full-time consultants have access to benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401K contributions, and any PTO, sick leave, or other benefits required by applicable state or local law.
