DevOps Engineer - Fort George G Meade

This DevOps Engineer role supports a customer onsite in Fort Meade, MD, and offers the opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative team where technical excellence, leadership, and continuous improvement are valued.

- We require an active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- We look for 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or software development with a bachelors degree in a related field, 3 years of relevant experience with a masters degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience.
- We need strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
- We expect solid familiarity with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda for infrastructure deployment and administration.
- We value proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- We require experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and operational support.
- We need the ability to develop in multiple languages, including Python, Bash, or Go.
- We look for familiarity with Git, Flux, and related development and release tooling.
- We require comfort working in a terminal-based environment.
- We expect strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- We need excellent problem-solving ability and a track record of diagnosing complex technical issues.
- We require strong verbal and written communication skills.
- We value understanding of Agile delivery practices and standard software development toolsets.
- We look for demonstrated experience as a technical lead, mentor, or engineering manager.
- We require the ability to open and close the workspace during normal business hours as needed.
- We require the ability to work on customer site in Fort Meade, MD five days per week with schedule flexibility.
- We prefer experience with big data platforms and technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, and Presto.
- We consider experience with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform an added advantage.

- We support the development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, with a strong emphasis on EKS.
- We support the buildout and deployment of edge, on-premise, and portable non-cloud infrastructure.
- We automate deployment workflows and improve the reliability and scalability of our services.
- We manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud environments.
- We partner with development teams to integrate their applications into our infrastructure.
- We monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and restore service when needed.
- We continuously refine processes and tools to improve uptime and performance.
- We stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to advance our infrastructure capabilities.
- We move fluidly between hands-on technical work and team guidance, including mentorship and leadership responsibilities.
- We perform additional duties as assigned.
